MAGNOLIA, Miss. (March 15) — Polesitter and fast qualifier Chris Wall of Holden, La., made it 2-for-2 in 2008 on the Mississippi State Championship Challenge with a 50-lap victory at Pike County Speedway. Wall's $2,500 victory was the series-leading 24th of his MSCC career and follows his March 1 triumph at South Mississippi Speedway's Frostbite 50. Fourth-starting Mike Boland of Cuba, Ala., finished second with 11th-starting Chad Thrash, Scott Slay and David Breazeale rounded out the top five at the 3/8-mile oval. Defending series champion David Ashley completed seven laps and was listed 15th in a race where 11 starters were running at the finish.
Notes: James Ward started outside the front row but was out after one lap. ... Billy McDonald was scheduled to start eighth but scratched from the feature. ...� WIth a small field on hand, two teams brought out backup cars. Chris Wall's crew chief Darrell Posey drove one of the team cars. He started 10th and dropped out after one lap. ... The series co-sanctions its next races with the Arkansas Motorsports Professional tour on March 21 at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Ala., and March 22 at Northeast Mississippi Motorsports Complex in Corinth, Miss.
