Van Sickle grabs UDLMCS victory at North Florida
LAKE CITY, Fla. (Oct. 1) — Kyle Van Sickle of Jacksonville, Fla., earned $3,000 Saturday at North Florida Speedway with a victory on the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series. Sickle jumped into the lead at the outset and controlled the entire racing, taking the checkers ahead of Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla. | Slideshow
Bo Allen, Jack Nosbisch Jr., and Johnny Collins rounded out the top five. Christian Augspurger was running third on the 26th lap when he spun out of contention, drawing a yellow flag.
UDLMCS points leader Keith Nosbisch, who set fast time but started outside the third row via the inversion, slowed on the backstretch midway through the race to trigger an accident that involved Shan Smith and Doug Watson, whose car was briefly airborne. Nosbisch was able to continue, finishing sixth.
