Ridley denies Hickman, earns first SRRS victory
CHATSWORTH, Ga. (June 2) — Hometown driver Aaron Ridley led all 40 laps of Saturday night’s Southern Regional Racing Series feature at North Georgia Speedway and earned $3,000 for his first series victory.
The polesitting Ridley survived a number of restarts at the third-mile oval and held off a late charge from 11th-starting Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn. | Slideshow
Ridley and Hickman battled side by side late in the race, but Ridley held on to lead at the finish.
Hickman settled for the runner-up finish with another hometown driver, Derek Ellis, claiming the third-place finish. Gary McPherson of Dalton, Ga., was fourth with Randy Todd of Lexington, Tenn., rounding out the races top five finishers.
