Roberts wins Toccoa's Buck Simmons Tribute
TOCCOA, Ga. (Aug. 18) — In a race honoring a Georgia racing legend, hometown driver Casey Roberts raced to victory Saturday at Toccoa Speedway on the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. Roberts earned $4,100 in the 41-lap Buck Simmons Tribute that paid homage to the driver who died seven days earlier.
Roberts notched his second Ultimate victory of the season and third of his career in outrunning Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C. Brent Dixon of Elberton, Ga., was third followed by Zack Mitchell of Enoree, S.C., and Tony Knowles of Tyrone, Ga.
