Payne grabs first-ever SUPR victory
KENNEDALE, (Texas (March 3) — Jeremy Payne of Springfield, Mo., gave Allgayer Racing a sweep of the season-opening weekend on the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing tour with a Sunday afternoon victory at Kennedale Speedway Park. | Slideshow
The pole-starting Payne led every lap to earn $2,500 for his first-ever SUPR victory in the Louisiana-based organization's first visit to Kennedale, adding his victory to a triumph by teammate Shane Hebert of Lafayette, La., the previous night at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.
Kevin Sitton of Baytown, Texas, finished second at KSP with Hebert in third. Jesse Stovall of Galena, Mo., and Gary Christian of Broken Bow, Okla., rounded out the top five finishers.
Payne’s weekend in the Late Model division was his first in more than a year. He previously ran a Late Model for Terry Phillips Racing before leaving the team after the 2011 season.
