Camponovo logs first MSCCS victory
GREENVILLE, Miss. (May 18) — Pole-starting Ross Camponovo of Clarksdale, Miss., raced to his first career Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series victory Saturday at Greenville Speedway. Camponovo earned $2,500.
Fellow front-row starter Bub McCool of Vicksburg, Miss., who entered the event with three straight series victories at Greenville, settled for second while fast qualifier Doug Showah of Indianola, Miss., was third. | Slideshow
Notes: The 24-year-old Camponovo’s Victory Circle is powered by an RPM Racing Engine and sponsored by Camponovo Farms, Young Farms Partnership, Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants and Marion Towing. ... Camponovo won the previous week at Greenville in the Crate Late Model division while finished third in Super Late Model action. ... David Breazeale and Chris Wall, both two-time MSCCS winners this season, passed up Greenville to compete in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Bad Boy 98 in Batesville, Ark. ...
