Hebert rules Cotton Bowl, gets fifth SUPR victory
PAIGE, Texas (Aug. 24) — Shane Hebert of Lafayette, La., won his second straight victory on the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing tour Saturday night at Cotton Bowl Speedway, earning $2,500 for his series-leading fifth victory of the season.
Tyler Erb of Magnolia, Texas, was second with series points leader Rob Litton of Alexandria, La., third. Kevin Sitton of Baytown, Texas, and Zach McMillan of Gladewater, Texas, rounded out the top five finishers.
Notes: Hebert’s Jeff Allgayer-owned No. 9 Pierce Race Car is powered by a Mullins Racing Engine and sponsored by D-A-M Services, Allgayer Inc., Victoria Mack, NAPA and Express Trucking. ... All of Hebert’s SUPR victories have come at different track this season with four coming at Texas tracks. ... Saturday’s race was the tour’s first event since Hebert won at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, on July 26. ... The tour returns to action with a Texas doubleheader weekend Aug. 30-31 at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood and Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore.
