Emory nabs first Steel Block Bandits victory
BRINKLEYVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 30) — Robbie Emory of Georgetown, Del., grabbed his first career Steel Block Bandits victory Friday at Clary’s Speedway. The 17-year-old high school senior earned $4,000.
Gene Knaub of Dover, Pa., was second followed by Scott Adams of Chester, Va., Cy Nelms of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Russell Erwin of Beaverdam, Va. Reigning series champion Andy Fries of Mercersburg, Pa., was seventh.
Emory will gun for another $4,000 — along with a $1,000 bonus offered for a weekend sweep — on Saturday at County Line Raceway in Elm City, N.C.
