Fisher bags first SUPR victory at Greenville

DirtonDirt.com correspondentGREENVILLE, Miss. (Sept. 1) — Clay Fisher of DeWitt, Ark., came out on top of an exciting finish Sunday night on Greenville Speedway to claim his first career P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing victory. | Slideshow
Turning back Kyle Beard of Trumann, Ark., and Shane Hebert of Lafayette, La., in a final-lap battle, Fisher earned $2,500 in becoming the tour’s third first-time winner this season. Ray Moore of Shreveport, La., and Tommy Surrett of Little Rock, Ark., rounded out the top five.
The breakthrough triumph adds to Fisher’s solid season, which also included claiming his first victory on the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series on May 25.
Sunday’s race wrapped up the SUPR tour’s three-race Labor Day weekend. Patrick Daniel of Wills Points, Texas, won Friday’s opener at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., and Rob Litton of Alexandria, La., won Saturday’s race at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas.

Racing Engine and sponsored by Fisher Transportation Services, Horton Diesel Repair, Palmer Fisher Trucking, Moon’s Towing and Recovery, Stuckey Enterprises, X-treme Graphics. ... Fisher has nine top-five finishes in 2013 with six in different series and three in weekly Super Late Model programs at Moulton (Ala) Speedway, Magnolia (Miss) Motor Speedway and another at Greenville. ... Drivers not making feature: David LaFleur, Seth Allen, Richard Fedrick, Terry Shaw, Randy Barnard. ... SUPR competitors return to action Sept. 14 with a visit to Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas.
