Hedgecock 7th winner of Steel Head National
SEYMOUR, Tenn. (Nov. 9) — Polesitter Cory Hedgecock earned $3,000 Saturday at 411 Motor Speedway by outdueling fellow front-row starter Josh Collins of Knoxville, Tenn., in the seventh annual Steel Head National. Hedgecock became the seventh winner of the track’s season-ending event for Limited Late Models. | Slideshow
Collins, who led early in the 40-lapper, settled for second with hometown driver Ryan King in third. Rusty Ballenger and Ruben Mayfield rounded out the top five finishers.
Five cautions slowed the action. Mark Leach got around on the frontstretch on the fourth lap. Josh Henry stalled in turn four on lap 12 and another quick yellow flew for a tangle between Steve Smith and Jason Manley. After another yellow on lap 15, the final caution appeared on lap 19 when Manley slowed in turn three.
