Lee rules 201 for fourth straight BoB victory
From series reports
SITKA, Ky. (June 7) — Recovering from a cushion-jump that let Tim Tungate take the lead, Victor Lee of Stanford, Ky., regained the point and led the final seven laps at 201 Speedway for his unprecedented fourth consecutive victory on the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. Lee, reigning series champion and points leader, earned $3,000 for his fourth victory in seven 2008 events.
David Webb of Nicholasville, Ky., led the first 15 laps, but the eighth-starting Lee took command on a lap-15 restart while Tungate and fast qualifier Aaron Hatton battled in the top five. Tungate moved into second and was dogging Lee for the lead with 10 laps remaining in the 40-lapper. When Lee jumped the high-side cushion in turn two on lap 33, Tungate moved ahead. But his lead was short-lived as Lee reclaimed the point on the frontstretch to lead lap 34 and led the rest of the way. Tungate, of Campbellsville, Ky., settled for second with Webb third. Shon Flanary of Mount Carmel, Tenn., rallied from his 17th starting spot for fourth and Dustin Linville rounded out the top five in a 50-minute race plagued by 10 cautions.
