Mayea rallies from 15th for Grays Harbor win

ELMA, Wash. (Sept. 13) — Storming to the front from his 15th starting spot, Rob Mayea of Bend, Ore., overtook Todd Shandy of Albany, Ore., on the 10th of 40 laps at Grays Harbor Raceway Park for a victory on the Hoosier I-5 Challenge Series. Mayea's ninth career series victory tied him atop the all-time series winner's list with Bob Boyd of Albany and Trevor Glaser of Tangent, Ore. The victory marked Mayea's second on the series this season, following a June 21 victory at the same track.
Ninth-starting Jeremy Shank of Salem, Ore., finished second followed by Greg Brooks, Shandy and Jeff Biffle, the brother of NASCAR standout Greg Biffle. Glaser, winner of the previous I-5 Challenge event at Willamette Speedway, finished ninth.
