Matthees grabs Dart Challenge victory at Gallatin
BELGRADE, Mont. (July 30) — Two-time and reigning series champion Lance Matthees of Winona, Minn., captured Friday’s Dart Challenge Series feature at Gallatin Speedway. Matthees, who started third, earned $3,000 for the middle race of a three-event Western swing for his eighth career victory on the WISSOTA-rules tour.
Third-row starters Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis., and Don Shaw of Ham Lake, Minn., finished second and third on a night when weather threatened the action, forcing officials to skip the scheduled dash event at the 3/10-mile oval.
Polesitter Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, Wis., was fourth and Eddie Kirchoff of Gillette, Wyo., was fifth. The series heads to Kirchoff’s home track of Gillette Thunder Speedway on Saturday.
