Mayea tops Glaser, Shank for $4,000 at Willamette
LEBANON, Ore. (Sept. 4-5) — Fourth-starting Rob Mayea of Bend, Ore., took the lead from polesitter Jeremy Shank on the 14th lap and led the rest of the 75-lap Ben Eyerly Memorial at Willamette Speedway. Mayea, who lapped all but two competitors, earned $4,000 for the unsanctioned Super Late Model victory. | Slideshow
Outside front-row starter Trevor Glaser of Tangent, Ore., was second and Shank, of Salem, Ore., finished third. Bob Boyd and Brian Cronk rounded out the top five finishers.
The event honored the memory of a former Salem racer who later became a championship-winning engine builder.
