Hogge goes flag-to-flag, wins Bud Nationals opener
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Oct. 7) — Polesitter Bobby Hogge IV of Salinas, Calif., led all the way Friday at Bakersfield Speedway to capture the first round of the 26th annual Bud Nationals. He pocketed $2,000 for the West Coast Shootout event. | Slideshow
Mike Kirby of Torrance, Calif., finished second followed by Nick Bartels of El Segundo, Calif. Andy Obertello of Hollister, Calif., and Clay Daly of Watsonville, Calif., rounded out the top five finishers. Rob Mayea of Bend, Ore., was eighth, the top non-California finisher.
The Late Model teams convene again Saturday for a $3,000-to-win event, the final California race on the series schedule.
