Whitwell scores victory in Show Low
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (Aug. 11) — R.C. Whitwell of Tucson, Ariz., captured his second straight Southwest Dirt Racing Association victory Saturday at Thunder Raceway. Whitwell, who has returned to his home state after a racing stint in Missouri, took the checkers in the No. 24az owned by Mike and Sue Tahtinen.
Joey Moriarty of Phoenix, Ariz., finished second followed by Lonnie Parker Jr., Jerry Fincher and James Chavez Jr. They were the only drivers running at the finish of a caution-filled 30-lapper.
