From track reports
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (April 26) — Reigning series champion Lonnie Parker Jr. of El Mirage, Ariz., raced from his fourth starting spot to his third consecutive Southwest Dirt Racing Association victory at Central Arizona Raceway. Parker earned $1,000 for his second straight series victory at Central Arizona in outrunning 12th-starting Mike Tahtinen by three lengths. Rounding out the top five was polesitter Randy Anderson, Tommy Hussak II and Mark Fowler.
Parker battled Anderson midway through the race and took the lead for good on the 19th lap. Tahtinen threated Parker in the closing laps, but he lost any chance at a last-lap pass when he fell behind the lapped car of Joey Moriarty after taking the white flag.
The next series event is May 17 on the half-mile at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz., the first series visit to the track since September 2004.
