Moriarty races to CDM victory at Tucson
TUCSON, Ariz. (July 6) — Joey Moriarty of Phoenix, Ariz., won Saturday’s Championship Dirt Motorsports touring event at Tucson International Raceway, collecting $1,200 for his first victory on the series.
Moriarty took the checkers ahead of Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, N.M., and Robert King Jr. of Avondale, Ariz. Hometown driver Brad Williams and Bruce Duckett of Phoenix rounded out the top five. | Slideshow
R.C. Whitwell, a two-time CDM winner at Tucson this season, was among three heat winners but he departed with engine problems.
Friday’s opening event of the doubleheader weekend was rained out.
