Papich, Glaser nab West Coast Nationals victories
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Oct. 11-12) — Jason Papich of Nipomo, Calif, and Trevor Glaser of Tangent, Ore., scored victories at Bakersfield Speedway’s Budweiser West Coast Nationals. Glaser earned $2,000 for a victory in Friday’s opener at the unsanctioned event, while Papich picked up $3,000 in Saturday’s finale for Super Late Models. | Slideshow
On Friday, Glaser took the lead when Jesse Stovall of Galena, Mo., piloting an Arizona-based car for Jeff and Mitzi Manka-owned car, hooked a rut. Glaser went on to victory over Clay Daly of Watsonville, Calif., and Nick Bartels of El Segundo, Calif. Jeremy Shank of Salem, Ore., and Stovall rounded out the top five.
On Saturday, Papich took the checkers ahead of teammate Tony Toste of Pismo Beach, Calif. Stovall was third ahead of Bobby Hogge IV of Salinas, Calif., and Steve Drake of San Luis Obispo, Calif.
