Taking a new direction

It seems as though my column has become self-serving for the most part. That has troubled me quite a bit recently. I have utilized my space here to talk about my departure from my former position with Southern All Stars, and then wrote further how my career evolved.

Fortunately, at least some of you good people have found what I have to say somewhat interesting, and for that I am grateful. I find myself this month feeling that I again need to explain what is going on with my racing career. I hope MORE

Where have the cars gone?

While I was a guest on Webb Dillard’s new In the Dirt webcast a few days ago, the question arose about dwindling car counts at Super Late Model series events. During the heyday of my career directing the Southern All Stars Racing Series, it was a rare occurrence to have fewer than 35 cars sign-in to race one of our events. And it was completely unheard of to not have a full field of 24 race cars on hand come feature time.
