Seven years ago, Georgian Mike Vaughn went out on a limb and tried something relatively new by starting a Crate Late Model series. Along with a traveling series, there’s also a weekly racing series. At the time, I was interested to see just how Vaughn’s series — now known as the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series — could aptly police its stringent engine policies.
