Race format evolution
As we race head first into the bulk of the season’s crown jewel events, it’s obvious that things aren’t what they once were. Back in the day — and I can say that because I’m getting old — a two-day race program consisted of qualifying and heat races on opening night, then consolations and the main event the second evening.
