$25,000 New Mexico bonus posted
Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., has posted a $25,000 Late Model bonus for next weekend’s inaugural Short Track Shootout with the windfall going to any driver who can sweep all three feature events.
The bonus money is being covered — without an insurance policy — by event sponsors Mesilla Valley Transportation and Gallardo Construction, SNMS general manager Rue Stone said.
"We're real excited to add even more excitement to the Short Track Shootout,” Stone said. "Giving drivers a shot at a $25,000 bonus is going to make the biggest Dirt Late Model event ever run in New Mexico even bigger.”
The addition of the bonus cash spices up the Jan. 20-22 event that has already boosted the purse for its finale to $10,000-to-win. The first two events pay $5,000-to-win at the 3/8-mile oval meaning a driving sweeping the events would pocket a whopping $45,000.
Along with Late Models, USRA-sanctioned modifieds are set to run for $3,000-, $4,000- and $5,000-to-win events while USRA X-mods pay $1,000-to-win each night. Legend cars and stock cars are also scheduled for action. Every lap of action will be live via DirtonDirt.com pay-per-view. Visit snmspeedway.com for more information.
