Rain sets up Arizona doubleheader
QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — Spotty afternoon showers Saturday at Arizona Speedway forced a postponement of the fifth round of the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. The $5,000-to-win event will be made up as part of a Sunday doubleheader at the third-mile oval. | Complete Arizona coverage
Saturday’s makeup will begin with 10 a.m. hot laps and racing at 11:30 a.m. Pit gates open at 8 a.m. with the drivers' meeting at 9 a.m. Grandstands open at 10 a.m.
Sunday’s regularly scheduled finale, including a $12,000-to-win feature for Super Late Models, is set to begin with 5 p.m. hot laps and racing at 6:30 p.m.
All tickets, pit passes and pay-per-view purchases for Saturday’s program will be honored with Sunday’s first half of the doubleheader.
The rainout is the first on the Arizona miniseries since the 2004 finale with the Ernie Mincy-promoted Early Thaw at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande.
