Scott Performance Wire founder dies
Brian Scott of Mooresville, N.C., founder of Scott Performance Wire, died Jan. 9 in Charlotte following a brief illness. He was 63.
A native of South Bend, Ind., Scott founded Scott Performance Wire in 1990, growing the company into an industry leader in performance ignition wires and other accessories used by engine builders across the racing spectrum. Scott Performance Wire was emblazoned on the firesuits of many Dirt Late Model racers over many years.
Scott grew up in Michigan, earned a business degree from Hanover College and was the vice president of Keystone Cable Corporation before starting his own business.
Among survivors are sons Evan of Hollywood, Md., and Sean of Columbia, S.C.; daughter Diana of Denver, Colo.; and his fiancee, Karyn Yaussy, of Newton, N.C..
