Duck River's WoO show reset for Sunday
With strong storms predicted to roll through central Tennessee on Friday, officials from the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series and Duck River Raceway Park agreed to move Friday's scheduled event at the Wheel, Tenn., track to Sunday, May 14.
Duck River's pits will open at noon and grandstand gates will be unlocked at 1 p.m. Action is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
WoO's Volunteer State doubleheader now begins Saturday at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn., before heading west to Duck River.
Among other weekend events affected by wet weather:
Tri-County Racetrack:Friday's program featuring the Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series was pushed back one week to May 19.
Greenville Speedway: Overnight rain, along with more rain forecasted for Friday, has forced the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series and speedway officials to cancel Friday’s race. No makeup date was announced.
Batesville Motor Speedway: The Southern Outlaw Late Model Series event at the Arkansas oval was rained out; no makeup date was immediately announced.
Ponderosa Speedway: Friday's Iron-Man Series race in Junction City, Ky., was postponed to June 10.
Potomac Speedway: Friday's Tri-State Challenge event in Budds Creek, Md., has been rained out; no makeup information was announced for the $3,022-to-win program.
Wythe Raceway: Saturday's Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series event in Rural Retreat, Va., has been postponed, but no makeup date was immediately announced.
