WWS rainout sets up Jan. 12 twinbill
QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — The Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout will make up Sunday’s rainout with a revised-program doubleheader Saturday, Jan. 12, miniseries officials announced. | Complete WWS coverage
Officials hatched the plan after overnight rains muddied the third-mile FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway facility, postponing a program of a $5,000-to-win Super Late Model feature, $2,000-to-win USRA modified feature and $1,000-to-win X-mod feature.
The first program of Saturday’s doubleheader will begin at 11 a.m. MST and include a complete $5,000-to-win Late Model program (30-lap feature) along with twin 15-lap features for the modifieds ($500-to-win each) and X-mods ($250-to-win each). Each division will utilize hot laps/time trials; neither modified division will run heats. Pit gates will open at 9 a.m. Saturday and grandstands at 10.
Saturday's second program will run as scheduled with hot laps beginning at 5:30 p.m. and heat races beginning at 6:55 p.m.
The rest of the miniseries will run as scheduled on Wednesday and Friday (hot laps at 5:30 p.m. both evenings) and for the Sunday, Jan. 13, finale (hots laps at 3:30 p.m.) highlighted by a $14,000-to-win Super Late Model main event.
• Those purchasing Sunday's DirtonDirt.com pay-per-view will get access to Saturday's opener of the doubleheader.
Correction: Fixes mod and X-mod purses for Jan. 12 opener.
