Saturday's Southern 100 slate reset
Because of Thursday rain and a lightning strike that knocked out some of the track's lighting, Friday's portion of the 12th annual Southern 100 at Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla., was cancelled.
Durrence Layne Chevrolet Series officials first decided to run two complete programs on Saturday, but later Friday evening, due to concerns over track prep and the facility’s curfew, they decided to scrap the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win opener altogether, leaving only Saturday’s 70-lap, $7,000-to-win event.
Gates will open at 2 p.m. Saturday with hot laps at 4 p.m. and the drivers’ meeting at 5:45 p.m. Local divisions will be in action as well. Visit southernraceway.com or the track's Facebook page for more information.
