Needmore Speedway has scheduled the inaugural Gene Maine Memorial to honor the late Valdosta, Ga., Late Model racer who died in a December automobile accident at the age of 55.

The Norman Park, Ga., track is hosting the $4,000-to-win Super Late Model event on May 23. Besides Super Late Models, sportsman, street stocks, super street, enduro and vintage divisions will compete.

Gates open at 2 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m.; grandstand admission is $10 (12-and-under free) and pit pass are $30.
