Tri-City switches to spectator-free
Forced to reverse course because of Illinois health restrictions, Tri-City Speedway will be spectator-free for its May 29 opening, the Granite City track announced today. Fans who purchased advance tickets will be refunded.
Friday's event includes a $5,000-to-win feature for DIRTcar Super Late Models and $1,800-to-win for DIRTcar modifieds and live streaming video is available at DirtonDirt.com and FloRacing.
While grandstands will be closed, each race team can have up to 10 people including the driver. For refunds, team registration, pre-entry or questions, text Tammy Gundaker at (636) 448-9111 or email tricityspeedway@msn.com (if applicable, put "ticket refund" in the email subject line).
Pits open at noon with the drivers’ meeting at 5:30. Hot laps are scheduled for 6 p.m. with time trials at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7. Visit the track's Facebook page for more details.
