Brownstown special to run unsanctioned
Saturday’s $10,000-to-win Hall of Fame Classic at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway won’t be a MARS Racing Series event, series officials announced today.
Track and series officials agreed on the decision to “not only get the most support of the racers but also keep the cost down for the current regulars” at Brownstown, according to a series release.
The removal of the race from Rip it Energy Fuel MARS schedule makes the next events on the Illinois-based series Aug. 28-30 with a pair of $5,000-to-win events at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway and a $5,000-to-win weekend finale at the Bullring at RICo Fairgrounds in East Moline, Ill.
Brownstown’s event, which will be streamed live at DirtonDirt.com and FloRacing, gates open at 3 p.m. with the drivers’ meeting at 5 and hot laps at 6. General admission is $25 (children 12-and-under free with paid adult) and pit passes are an additional $15.
Fans holding wristbands from Brownstown's July 11 rainout will be admitted for $10. Visit brownstownspeedway.com for more details.
