Arizona miniseries finale pays $25,000
The finale of January's Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz., will pay a miniseries-record $25,000-to-win, promoters announced today.
Sponsors Shaw Trucking and Premium Waste Services boosted the payout of the last of six races scheduled for the 15th edition of the miniseries presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts. The total payout for Jan. 17’s 50-lapper carries a purse of more than $65,000 — up more than $20,000 from the original purse — with $10,000 to the runner-up and at least $1,000 for every starter.
“Wow and thank you are the first words that came to mind, when I found out that Premier Waste Services wanted to infuse additional money into the Wild West Shootout finale," promoter Chris Kearns said. "Don Shaw at Shaw Trucking continues to go the extra mile every year to help us grow the event, and now with the added support from Larry and Jeni Henk at Premier Waste Services, we are able to take the event to a whole new level."
The purse boost makes it possible that one miniseries driver sweeping five $5,000-to-win races and the finale could leave Arizona with more than $303,000 in earnings, including the Keyser Quarter-Million Challenge bonus as well the $3,000 champion’s check.
