Midweek rain postpones East Bay
GIBSONTON, Fla. — Rain that arrived during Wednesday's consolation races at East Bay Raceway Park postponed the remainder of the Wrisco Winternationals event to Thursday at the third-mile oval.
The third round of the miniseries will be completed following Thursday's regularly scheduled program. Both of Thursday's features pay $7,000-to-win.
Thursday's original program will start at 5:30 p.m. with hot laps followed by time trials, heat races, consolation races and the 40-lap main event. About 15 minutes after the conclusion of the first program, the makeup event will begin midway through the second of three consolation races followed by another 40-lap feature.
Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., is scheduled to start on the pole of the makeup 40-lapper with fellow heat winners Mark Whitener, Bobby Pierce, Jimmy Owens, Wil Herrington and Brandon Overton filling the rest of the first three rows.
