Brownstown makeup pushed to Sept. 23
Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway's grandstands improvement project will prevent the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from making up the remainder of the Indiana Icebreaker on May 2, the series announced.
Because the demolition of the turn-four grandstands at the Jim Price-promoted track is scheduled to begin this week, the event postponed March 20 because of unsafe racing conditions and initially rescheduled for the first Sunday in May has been pushed to autumn just ahead of the Jackson 100 weekend.
The completion of the Indiana Icebreaker, beginning on the third lap of the first consolation race, has been rescheduled for Sept. 23. Josh Richards is scheduled to start on the pole position alongside Brandon Sheppard. The Thursday night event will include a 50-lap main event paying $15,000-to-win.
That makeup leads into Sept. 24-25 events of $10,000-to-win and $20,000-to-win for the Jackson 100 weekend at the quarter-mile fairgrounds oval in southern Indiana.
