Chamber of commerce honors 34 Raceway
The Greater Burlington (Iowa) Partnership Chamber of Commerce recently named 34 Raceway one of its 2020 Small Businesses of the Year.
The 3/8-mile oval in West Burlington, which hosts a schedule including Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association among other tours, has been owned and operated by Brad Stevens and Jessi Mynatt since September 2017. They received the honor at April 30's Small Business Brunch.
"It's very unexpected," Stevens said told The Hawk Eye newspaper. "We knew we were nominated, but we sure didn't see this coming. We are very humbled and grateful that people recognize what we are trying to do for southeast Iowa."
Mynatt credited their "hard-working team who make all of this possible. This is absolutely tremendous to us and a testament to all the people who help us."
The racetrack won the award along with The Buffalo Tavern. The business group honored the track and tavern for rising "to meet (Covid-19) challenges with creative new additions to their operations.”
