$5,000-to-win Supers Aug. 29 at Joliet
DIRTcar-sanctioned Super Late Models will be part of the 10th annual Bill Waite Memorial Classic scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Dirt Oval Route 66 Speedway in Joliet, Ill. The Late Model event pays $5,000-to-win while IRA sprint cars chase a $6,000 winner's purse. The event was held at La Salle (Ill.) Speedway in recent seasons.
Other schedule changes and additions:
• Saturday's Southern Outlaw Late Model Series event at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., has been cancelled.
• Revolution Park in West Monroe, La., has added a $3,000-to-win Super Late Model event for Aug. 14.
• Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., has added a Nov. 2 unsanctioned event tabbed the Prelude to the World of Outlaw Finals for the Tuesday preceding the NGK NTK World of Outlaws World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C. Super Late Models ($7,500-to-win), 410 sprint cars ($5,000-to-win) and big-block modifieds ($5,000-to-win) are on the card with more details to be announced.
• Atomic Speedway near Chillicothe, Ohio, has removed Thursday's special event, The Night the Stars Come Out, because of conflicts with vacations and nearby fairs. The event originally included $7,500-to-win events for sprint cars and Super Late Models. Atomic has added a $3,000-to-win Super Late Model event for Aug. 28.
