Healthy bonuses spice Silver 1000
Thursday's 49th annual Silver 1000, the $3,211-to-win event on the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series at Halvor Lines Speedway in Proctor, Minn., features several bonuses, including a healthy $2,020 to the halfway leader of the long-running event.
Troy Powers has gathered donations to post a $2,020 lap-20 bonus in memory of his father Dennis Powers, who recently passed away. Among other bonuses:
• $20 for each lap led.
• $270 for the long tow award.
• $227 for the feature hard charger.
• $127 to the Late Model winner if the No. 27 is visible on the car.
• $127 for the fastest Late Model lap.
• $200 for the highest finishing non-MB Customs entry.
The series announced that Hoosier LM-40s will be mandatory for the right-rear wheel in the event. To help offset the costs for teams, F Brennan Companies will cover entry fees for Late Model drivers.
