Expecting a low car count, the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series elected to cancel Saturday's event at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Ala., according to series director Charles Thrash. The series hopes to again return to the track in 2022.

Deep South's cancellation sends the series to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss., on Sept. 18 for the $3,000-to-win season finale.

• The Southern All Stars announced the cancellation of the tour's Sept. 17-18 trip to Beckley (W.Va.) Motorsports Park. Track and series officials hope to reschedule the $3,000- and $10,000-to-win events next spring.
