Richer Castrol tour sets 12-race slate
Significantly boosting purses and the series points fund, the second-year Castrol FloRacing Night in America tour today announced a 2022 schedule with 12 races at 12 tracks in seven states leading off at the legendary Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. | 2022 Castrol schedule
The series focusing on midweek events pays every '22 race winner more than the most lucrative ($22,000) race in its inaugural season with $22,002-to-win and $1,000-to-start purses totaling $67,572 for 11 of 12 series events, a 69 percent increase over last year's minimum total purse.
The points fund grows 37 percent to $85,250 (up from $62,500) with the series champion receiving $30,000 (up from $20,000).
Eldora (April 12) is new to the series along with Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Ill. (May 11); Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway (May 12); 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa (May 18); and Senoia (Ga.) Raceway, which hosts the tour's lone non-midweek event with the tour-ending $53,053-to-win Peach State Classic on Nov. 12 (a $10,000-to-win non-series event precedes Senoia's finale).
Tracks slated to host 2021 races returning for '22 are Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway (April 27); Marshalltown (Iowa) Speedway (May 18); Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. (June 1); Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway (Sept. 13); Atomic Speedway near Chillicothe, Ohio (Sept. 28); Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, N.C. (Oct. 6); and 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn. (Oct. 11).
Except for Senoia, races are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. The tour takes a two-month break between events at Tri-City and 34 Raceway. Find more series information at flosports.tv/castrolfloracingnightinamerica.
