The 28-year-old Joiner, whose family-produced Hunt the Front videos on YouTube and Patreon videos document his racing career, reached an agreement with 52-year-old team owner Leon Henderson last week.
“We’ve known each other since he started racing,” said Henderson, a former driver who has sponsored or owned cars for drivers including Hall of Famer Billy Moyer and three-time MSCCS champion David Breazeale of Four Corners, Miss. “We sold (Joiner) a few cars down the road. We’ve been trying to get a deal worked out for two or three years, maybe four years now. I’m excited that we finally did.”
Joiner, who made a cameo appearance in Henderson's car last July with a fourth-place finish in MSCCS action at Hattiesburg, Miss., will split time in 2022 between his family-owned Capital Race Car and Henderson's machine.
Joiner plans to compete in 25-30 events with Henderson, including a pair of $50,000-to-win events, May 26-28's Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., and July 29-30's Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway.
