Rain postpones Dream to Sept. 7
ROSSBURG, Ohio — Saturday’s 100-lap Dream XXVIII main event, red-flagged after 14 laps because of rain at Eldora Speedway, will be completed Wednesday, Sept. 7, prior to the track’s three-day World 100 weekend.
Precipitation steadily fell for more than three hours before before officials made the decision to postpone the remainder of the $128,000-to-win event. Sunday wasn't used as a rain date because of an unfavorable forecast, officials said.
Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., led the first 14 laps of the feature, which was run with rain falling. A caution flag was thrown when the precipitation became too heavy for further competition.
