Anonymous local sponsors at C.J. Speedway in Columbus Junction, Iowa, have added significant money to the purse of Friday’s Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association event.

The biggest bonus is an extra $2,500 to the winner, raising the winner’s purse to $7,500 from the scheduled $5,000 for MLRA’s first-ever visit to the Louisa County Fairgrounds oval. Other bonuses are $500 for fast time and $250 to each heat race winner.

MLRA’s event at C.J. opens a two-race weekend for the circuit in eastern Iowa that continues Saturday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, with the $10,555-to-win Slocum 50.
