Remainder of WVMS Historic 100 cancelled
Saturday’s rained out Historic 100 at West Virginia Motor Speedway won’t be rescheduled, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series announced today.
Concerns with track speed and surface issues, as well as difficulty finding a suitable makeup date, has led teams and officials to mutually agree on cancelling the final of the weekend’s $50,000-to-win event. Thunderstorms halted Saturday’s action just before the main event was scheduled to hit the track.
WVMS is offering a $40 refund to anyone with a two-day or Saturday-only general admission or pit pass armband. Those armbands can be mailed to West Virginia Motor Speedway, P.O. Box 21, Paden City, WV 26159. Refunds will be issued upon receipt of armbands in the form of a check and mailed to the sender's return address.
WVMS is also paying $1,000 apiece to each of the 25 teams scheduled to start Saturday’s main event.
