Friday’s Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Series stop at East Alabama Motor Speedway was halted shortly after Super Late Model time trials when a heavy rain storm swept through the area. Severe lightning forced officials to send spectators to their vehicles. After a delay of nearly an hour, with lightning still prevalent, officials decided to postpone the program.

The event has been rescheduled for Friday, Aug. 18 and will resume where it left off with consolations and a 40-lap feature. New entrants can attend the makeup race and will tag the back of one of the consolation races.
