Palmetto State 50 on Clash, Iron-Man slates
Lancaster (S.C.) Motor Speedway’s Palmetto State 60 scheduled for Nov. 18 will be co-sanctioned by the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series and Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Series, officials announced today. The event will pay $10,000-to-win and $500-to-start and comes a day ahead of the Clash’s season-ending Blue-Gray 100 at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C.
Among other schedule changes and information on the Dirt Late Model schedule:
• The MARS Championship Series has removed Late Models from its scheduled Sept. 3 event at Spoon River Speedway (the tour’s modified division remains on the card at the Banner, Ill., oval).
• Madras (Ore.) Speedway announced that Aug. 12’s Hunter Johnson Memorial will pay $3,500-to-win, $2,000 for second and $1,500 for third in one of the West’s richest summer events. Oregon Parts Company and J&N Trucking are among race sponsors and the track has also collected $100 lap-money donations for the unsanctioned 40-lap feature.
• The Topless Outlaw Dirt Racing Series has added an Oct. 7 season-ending event at Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Ga. The series also shifted its event at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tenn., to Sept. 30 from Aug. 12.
• The Red Clay Series has scheduled a $5,000-to-win 602 Crate Late Model event on Oct. 7 at North Alabama Speedway. The event will be the richest for the division in the history of the Tuscumbia, Ala., oval.
• Aug. 19's Mid-East 604 Crate Late Model Series event at Lancaster (S.C.) Motor Speedway will pay a season-high $7,500-to-win.
• The Southern All Stars cancelled its Aug. 12 event at Lexington (Tenn.) 104 Speedway and added Sept. 4's C.T Barnett Memorial at Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, N.C., a $10,034.37-to-win event.
• The Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge has added a $5,000-to-win event Sept. 30 at the reopening Ultimate Motorsports Park in Elkin, N.C.
• The Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series has added Oct. 6's second annual Dave Kittey Memorial to the tour schedule; no purse information was announced.
