HTF boosts 2024 champ's prize to $50,000
The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series today announced a significant points-fund increase for the 2024 season highlighted by a $50,000 prize for the champion of the regional tour.
Coming off a successful 18-race inaugural campaign that saw Josh Putnam of Florence, Ala., earn $20,000 for winning the title, Hunt the Front officials released details for a ’24 points fund that will total $127,000 in postseason cash, up from more than $50,000 distributed to drivers this season. Second place in next year’s points will be worth $25,000 with $15,000 for third, $12,000 for fourth and $10,000 for fifth; positions 6-10 will pay $5,000, $4,000, $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000.
A midseason points fund totaling $16,000 will also be shared among the top 10 in the points standings for the second consecutive year with $5,000 earmarked for the leader. In addition, the HTF Rookie of the Year program will be increased to pay five spots — up from two this season — with $5,000 going to the top first-year driver.
In other series news, HTF announced that Travis Scott has been promoted to director of race day operations beginning with this weekend's National 100 at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, which is being officiated by the HTF officials. Scott's promotion from series announcer has HTF looking for someone to replace him on the microphone in 2024, but well-known IMCA announcer Jerry Vansickel will handle the call for the National 100.
