HTF sets 23 races, boosts purses
The second-year Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series today released a 23-race schedule at 13 tracks in eight states capped by the $50,000-to-win National 100 on Nov. 1-2 at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City that will conclude the tour's points. | 2024 Hunt the Front schedule
Highlights include each Saturday event paying at least $15,000-to-win (only five series races paid that much in 2023), a $20,000-to-win Midseason Championship event at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway and five first-time tracks joining the tour. All but three series weekends include Friday-Saturday events, nine of them with races at the same track.
Along with East Alabama, which hosts an Aug. 17 event along with the National 100, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., is the only other track with repeat visits as TST hosts the season-opening March 15-16 weekend and a Oct. 4-5 weekend, both with $5,000- and $15,000-to-win events.
Two South Carolina tracks — Gaffney's Cherokee Speedway and Lancaster Motor Speedway — are among first-time series tracks along with Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn., Ultimate Motorsport Park in Elkin, N.C., and Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Ky.
Other returning tracks on the schedule along with EAMS, Senoia and Talladega are All-Tech Raceway in Ellisville, Fla., Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss., Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway, Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tenn., and Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway.
The series plans to add single-track Sept. 20-21 races that will give the tour 25 races in 14 states. The tour's points fund pays more than $150,000 with $50,000 going to the champion.
