XR shuffles Spring Thaw schedule
Facing unfavorable weather Friday, the XR Super Series announced Friday's $12,000-to-win Spring Thaw event at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., has been shifted to Sunday. Saturday's $30,000-to-win Spring Thaw program remains as scheduled.
The series also announced earlier starting times with pit gates opening at 1 p.m. each day with grandstands opening at 3 and racing at 5. Visit xrsuperseries.com for more details.

Tyler County: Pushes Saturday's $4,000-to-win RUSH Crate Late Model Series season opener to April 13, because of heavy and sustained rain received at the Middlebourne, W.Va., facility.
Tri-City: Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill.'s cancelled the weekend's Midwest LateModel Racing Association season-opening doubleheader after receiving heavy rain; the Midwest-based series will now kick off its 2024 campaign with April 12-13's Spring Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
Peoria: Saturday's makeup of the $5,000-to-win Illinois State Championship at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway was cancelled because of an unfavorable forecast; no makeup date was announced.
Atomic: Poor weather forecasts forced Atomic Speedway near Chillicothe, Ohio, to postponed Saturday's Steel Block Late Model Series opener to April 13.
Waycross: Saturday's $2,500-to-win Waycross (Ga.) Motor Speedway event on the Southern Clash Late Model Series was cancelled because of a scheduling conflict caused by the local Swampfest event; no makeup date was announced.
