Allison grand marshal at Georgetown
Alabama Gang member Donnie Allison, a 2024 inductee into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, will on April 26 serve as grand marshal for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Melvin L. Joseph Memorial at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway.
The 84-year-old Allison will sign autographs from 5-6 p.m. in the grandstand area and address the crowd prior to opening ceremonies for the $19,049-to-win event with 49 laps around the 4/10-mile oval. Allison, a 10-time NASCAR Cup winner including the Coca-Cola 600, scored hundreds of victories on tracks in the Southeast during his lengthy racing career.
The Lucas Oil Series field is also slated to include NASCAR Cup Series star Ross Chastain, who will sign autographs at 6 p.m. and plans to compete driving a Ken Adams-backed Super Late Model.
