Wild West Shootout sets Vado dates
Officials today announced dates for 2025’s Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout with three-division race programs highlighted by Super Late Models scheduled for Jan. 4-5, 8, and 10-12 at Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park, where the Chris Kearns-promoted miniseries returns for the fourth season.
Super Late Models will chase $10,000-to-win purses the first five programs with a $25,000-to-win finale at the 3/8-mile oval with modifieds and X-mod divisions on the undercard. More than $320,000 in purse money is up for grabs at the event, the continuation of annual January Super Late Model action in January at tracks in the Southwest. Practices are scheduled for Jan. 3 and Jan. 7.
The six-race miniseries drew 181 North American drivers competitors in 2024 with Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., winning four of six Super Late Model events. Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., and Kyle Larson of Elk Grove, Calif., split the other two features with Larson capturing the lucrative finale.
